After over a decade of investment in crime prevention, figures show that crime in the South-East is at a new low, but this is being threatened by the government’s cuts. We are seeing reckless cuts confirmed such as a 4% reduction per year to Kent and Sussex police force's budget. We know there will be 500 fewer police officers on both Kent and Sussex streets and 1,000 fewer police support staff. And when it comes to affordable housing, the Government has effectively told families they are on their own.

This is a devastating blow for people living across the South East, particularly in areas where we have seen neighbourhood policing working with communities to reduce crime.

With a reduction of 2,000 police support and admin staff in Kent and Sussex we will see frontline police officers spend more time fighting paperwork and not crime.

When I speak with local residents, neighbourhood policing is something they want to see protected and these cuts from Cameron and Clegg will threaten our security as we see fewer police officers on our streets.

Barry, so too was Dr Stoate, but sadly he used to say one thing to the good people of Dartford and then return to Westminster and vote as he was told by Blair and Brown (tolls, post office closures anyone?). I also can't remember Dr Stoate holding his Govt to account over the 10p tax fiasco or anything else for that matter.

Doesn't John Adams spend his days advising the wealthy how to save money and tax and his spare time telling everyone who'll listen that the evil Tories are the party of the rich?

Pots and kettles AGAIN from DCLP and it's members!!

There are plenty of websites and news programmes that give details of this as it is a national story.

I thought this website (of the DARTFORD Labour Party) would give details of what the Labour Party would do for DARTFORD. Apparently not.

I actually checked Gareth Johnson's record of submitting questions and speaking in debates - he's above average in both apparently.

Didn't the previous government sell off forest land though? Was that land not our land?

In any case, does this have a great deal to do with Dartford? I am trying to work out who to vote for in May and this kind of thing doesn't really affect my decision frankly.
