Kelly Grehan is Stone House’s Labour Councillor, first elected in May 2019.
Kelly is also Shadow Deputy Leader of the Council and Deputy Leader of the Labour Group on Dartford Borough Council.
In addition to this, Kelly is a parish Councillor representing St Johns ward on Stone Parish Council.
Kelly lives in Stone with her husband and two sons. An active member of the community, she was previously Vice Chair of the governing body at The Brent Primary School and volunteered with many local charities.
In 2013, Kelly formed Dartford Toy Appeal which collects Christmas presents for children supported by charities across Dartford. Last Christmas, 2500 gifts were donated. The appeal is now run under Dartford Deeds Not Words Donation which Kelly runs with two friends. The foundation runs various projects in the community including Dartford Red Box Project and toiletry collections for people in hospitals and care homes and took part in the coordinated community response to the Coronavirus Crisis.
Kelly has passionately campaigned for measures to reduce air pollution in Stone and is a founder member of Dartford Safer Roads which campaigns for road safety measures. She has run Dartford Litterpickers for 5 years and has organised an Inter-Generational project amongst Stone’s older residents and teenagers. She also runs community events and during the Coronavirus crisis ran a project to try and ensure all care homes and hospitals in the area had PPE equipment.
She is involved with different organisations encouraging more women to get into politics, as a Director of campaign group 50:50 Parliament, a member of the Fabian Women’s Network executive committee, Chair of Dartford Fawcett group and a member of Labour Local Government Association Women’s Taskforce.
